Each page contains a redirect field that allows a content author to specify a location for the page to redirect to. If the Permanent link option is chosen a 301 redirect is set. This option is helpful when migrating content over a period of time.
For marketing and promotional URL's a redirect folder exists for each site. Creating an item promo will redirect users access http://<site>/promo to the specified URL.
